THQ Hospital Hazro Blood Bank runs transfusion service 24/7 in order to facilitate patients pertaining to their treatments, surgeries & other related illness requirements. This serves as the back bone of the hospital catering to the emergencies, trauma cases, viral endemics and support to Dialysis Centre. Blood Bank THQ Hospital, Hazro is licensed by Punjab Blood Transfusion Authority. A Blood Transfusion Committee over seas the blood transfusions and issues relating to Blood Banking.

Standard Operative Procedures (SOPs)

The policies are as following and should include, at least:

  • Donor screening
  • Processing and storage of blood

Blood Screening

WHO recommends protocols for screening all donated blood for five Blood Transmitted Infections namely (Hepatitis B and C, HIV, Malaria and Syphilis) and this is practiced.
